Section I

Administration Guidelines

 

 

 

The board will consist of Members that are vote on by the league; their duties consist of the following:

 

  1. Interpret the rulebook
  2. Ensure competition between coaches is  fair during the season
  3. Approve schedule each season
  4. Resolve disputes for coaches
  5. Ensure referees provide fair judgment, within rules of the league during games they officiate.
  6. Ensure coaches abide by the ethical codes of the league
  7. Keep stat update
  8. Maintain the League Daddy web site
  9. Collect league fees
  10. Update rules that are approved on by the league.
  11. Schedule games of road warriors
  12. Organize Super Bowl, purchase trophies, field covers, etc

 

Team Draft Guidelines

The draft is held every year for coaches to have the opportunity switch teams. It will be held after the Super Bowl is held.

The Draft order is determined by highest ranked teams, 1st  pick would be by made by the Super Bowl winner, 2cd pick by the runner up and so forth. There will be two rounds

 

  1. Each team has 5 minutes in the first round to make their selection and 2 minutes in the second round.
  2. Coaches are allowed to trade your spot in the draft but lose your rights to your current team in the process.
  3. Coaches are allowed to trade teams as long as they don’t trade spots in the draft, if they trade spots both coaches lose their rights to their respective teams.

 

Team Base Draft

The base draft is for coaches that are new to the league and coaches that did not make the playoffs the previous year. The draft order is determined by coaches that are new to the league and last year records.  If a coach has never played in the GLEFL they are entitled to the first draft picks, depending on the number of teams they will put in a hat and drawn out for the order. Coaches that have played before and are coming back to league will be the next group of coaches in the drafts and then by order of worst record.

  1. Coaches have 20 minutes to walk around and scout all bases that are being ran on the various fields
  2. Once the draft has been started coaches have 3 minutes in the first round and 2 minutes in each successive round that is ran.

 

Super Bowl Field Selection

The Field will be a big board field for the super bowl; the field will be selected at the mid point of the season. The coach whose field is chosen is responsible for make sure the field is in great working condition and is at the game site before the kickoff of the game. Requirements for a board to be determine for a Super Bowl:

  1. Big board
  2. Great working motors
  3. Must be Level

 

 

 

Determining Playoffs

The number of teams that make the playoff is determine by the number of coaches that are in the league, if we get 24 or more coaches 6 teams will make the playoffs in both conferences. If we get less than 24 only 5 coaches will make the playoffs.

The order of the seed will be determined by league daddy site, if the is not available we will use the current playoff determination from the NFL to determine seeds.

 

Wild card rounds

6 at 3

5 at 4

 

Divisional rounds

Lowest seed left @ 1

Highest seed left @ 2

 

Conference Championship Round

Lowest seed team @ Highest seed team

 

 

Punishments Guidelines

 

 

The Great Lakes EFL board will be responsible for implementing and clarifying all rules governing the Great Lakes EFL. Any misinterpretations of these guidelines will be explained by one of these board members. If a coach is in violation of any of these rules that coach will be directed to the league board. The board will be responsible for finding a resolution to all violations.

 

Note:  All Fines are to be paid before the start of your next game

 

 

 

Boiled Bases

1.      1st offense is immediate forfeit of the current game with a loss. The base must be immediately destroyed. All prongs removes. And a $10 fine.

2.      2nd offense is immediate forfeit and a two game suspension. The game will consist of current game and the following game. The base must be immediately destroyed. All prongs removes.  And a $15 fine

3.      3rd offense is removed from the league and NO refund of your league fees.

 

 

Code of Conduct

This rule is put in place for any coach violation for: Slander towards another coach, treating, fighting, destroying another coach property, as well as behavior that is harmful for the league, coaches and place were we play.

 

1.      1st offense is immediate forfeit of the current game with a loss. Must also pay a $20 fine

2.      2nd offense is immediate forfeit and a two game suspension. The game will consist of current game and the following game. Must pay a $30 fine.

3.      3rd offense is removed from the league and NO refund of your league fees.

 

NO Call/NO Show

 

1.      1st offense you forfeit that game. Must pay a $5 fine

2.      2nd offense you forfeit that game and receive a warning to be removed from the league. Must pay a $10 fine

3.      3rd offense is removed from the league and NO refund of your league fees.

 

Quitting Games early

                               1. Quitting a game early is a $5 fine.

                               2. Anytime before the start of the 4th quarter is considered early

 

Note:  Tapping Out is allowed as long as both coaches agree and a winner is declared.  There will be no forfeiture yards awarded.

 

Schedules

 

  1. Our schedule will be release when the total numbers of team is determined. It is a 16 game schedule.
  2. If 32 teams are obtained, we will use the current NFL schedule.
  3. In case of emergency that occurs, Please call the coach and let them know that you need to reschedule your game. A list of all league coach’s phone numbers will be provided.
  4. Please call at least 12 hours before the game to reschedule. All games are played on Sunday at 12:00, with exception for players in Different cities playing 4 games every 4th week.

Bases

 

Weight Requirement (Maximum Allowed)

 

     1.      1.30 grams TTC

   2.      .80 grams Rookie

   3.    1.00 grams Proline Rookie

 

APPEARANCE

 

1)      Bases may not have any weight added to it, such as washers.

2)      A player’s platform must be in contact with the whole base; no player can hang off a base.

3)      Base cannot be put on backward to run forward.

4)      Bases must be free of all obstruction

A.      No Flash or spree on the front of the base

B.      No scoops

 

 

tweaking and alterations

 

1)      Prongs maybe TWEAKED using pliers, sand paper, clippers, lighters, etc.

2)      Proline control bases dial can be cut to the knob on it to make it fit and run better, no other base dial may be cut.

3)    Tape can be used to hold prolines dials from turning, this is the only type of dial that tape can be used on to hold dials in shells.

 

ELIGIBLE BASES/MANUFACTURES

 

1.      Miggle or Tudor standard Rookie and TTC bases

2.      All Straight Front Proline Bases.

3.      All S.I.  Rookie bases

4.      Tornado Alley F-5’s

5.     ITZ Dials (Special conditions below)

A.      Eligible at every defensive position

B.      Eligible for Offensive Line

C.      Cannot be on eligible receiver, tight end, or declared receivers

D.     Cannot be tackle eligible

E.     Eligible for specialty teams

 

 

 

 

 

INELIGIBLE BASES/MANUFACTURES

 

1.       Playtime Brown bases/Green bases

2.       Any boiled or chemically altered base

3.       Miggle Proline rounded bases

4.       Any Boat Bases

5.       New SI warehouse control bases

 

 

base Identification and roster requirements:

 

1.      Roster is due at beginning of the season and at the start of week nine (9).  Failure to turn in your updated roster in week nine will be viewed as no changes to roster.  The following information needs to be included in your roster:

A.      Player name,

B.      Players number

C.      Number on shell

D.      Number on dial (TTC)

E.      Description of base (base color, type base, color and type of dial etc.)

 

2.      Changing bases, trading base are allowed until week 9

3.      The base roster turned in on week 9 is the base you use the rest of the season. No changes bases with coaches, No switching base on your team. The Player number and base number are tied together.

 

WARNING! At anytime your team could have a surprise inspection for Base ID either by the league or a coach may ask to have your team checked

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Figures

 

APPEARANCE

 

IMPORTANT: Figures must look neat and clean, not a glob (excessive coating) or caked with glue.

 

TAPE

 

ALLOWED

Ø      You can add a piece of two-sided tape.

§         No folding over (looping) tape to make layers

 

NOT ALLOWED

Ø      More, than one piece of Tape (looping is considered two pieces of tape

Ø      Lead tape

Ø      ANY Glue- BASE and Platform must look factory bought 

Ø      Metal Objects-nuts, bolt, washer etc.

Ø      Excessive Paint.

 

Weight Requirement (Maximum Allowed)

 

1.     3.20 grams with TTC

2.     2.80 grams with rookie

3.    3.00 grams with Proline rookie base only

 

 

Please study these guidelines carefully.  If you have any doubt regarding player eligibility or criteria for use during games, consult with a board member to avoid losing a key player on game day.  It is our intent to be fair to everyone and it would be very unsettling if we need to declare a player ineligible. 

 

1.      Fab 5 figures

a.      Standard Tudor, Buzzball Haiti Reproductions

1.      not allowed: 1967 Deluxe (Big Men)

 

2.      Buzzball players

a.      Offensive Linemen must have to their arms lowered to where they can not pick up a player base off the board

b.      Only two Cover Corners with arms extended allowed on the field at one time.

 

3.      Football Figure (RR)

a.      They must fit in the custom box and meet weight listed above

1.      Many figure artist and customization specialist can assist you with meeting weight requirements.

 

4.      Custom Players

a.      Figures can be no wider that a Haiti TE figure

b.      Figures can be no taller than a Buzzball WR 2 figure

c.    Figures should not extend beyond the base wherein contact will eliminate base contact of any kind.
d. create an illegal wedge that would cause a player to be lifted
e. Player must fit in a custom box that at the site.
 

5.    Rosters

a.      Maximum – 55 players

b.      Minimum – 22 players

c.      Offense players can only play offense and Defense only defense

1        Exception:  NFL two way players may play their respective positions on both offense and defense

d.      One player per base

e.      One player per number

f.      Defense Line player cannot play DB or LB positions

 
 

Footballs

 

1)      All balls mass produced by Miggle (Felt, Sponge, Proline)

2)      EFDW Balls can be used for kicking game, not passing.

 
 
 
 
 
 

Playing Fields:

 

1. Size

A.      Minimum-Miggle super bowl and Tudor 660

B.      Maximum- Large Boards from various manufacturers or self made no bigger than 24 x 48

 

 

2. motors

A      Two or more motors are allowed.

B      Once the game has begun, the motor may not be moved.

 

3. field conditions

A   Home team provides the field.

B    The field that is used as your home field in the first game is your home field for the year, special circumstance are consider for changing fields.

C      Fields with dome (crown) effects at midfield are not allowed.  The GLEFL requires all fields to be flat

 

4. Speed Regulations:

A      Home team determines speed

B     If 2 or more players’ fall consistently the visiting team can have the speed checked/turned down.

C      Once game starts, speed may not be adjusted unless both coaches agree on it.

D      If the visiting team feels that the board is running to slow he can have a 3rd party determine if it is. If 3rd party decides that the board is to be adjusted with 22 players on the field.

 
 

 

Section III

Game Play

 

1. pregame weigh in

 

All coaches are required to weigh their players prior to playing their games.  If you waive the right to weigh players prior to the game you are responsible for the consequences, including fines, fees and forfeitures.  Any questions regarding a player’s weight will be directed to a board member.  Overweight players must be reported to a board member immediately upon discovery.

 

2. Coin Toss

        a. visiting team makes call

        B.  Winner chooses to receive, defend or defer to the 2nd half.

 C.      Loser chooses which goal to defend, except on defer.

 D.      Teams shall switch sides of the field at the end of each quarter.

 

3. Game Length:

       Four Quarters per regulation game

a.      16 boxes per quarter: boxes are broken down into a one or two box play

1.       Two box plays- represent plays that keep the clock running.

a.      Tackles in Bounds.

 

2.      One box plays- represents plays that stop the clock.

a.      Running out of bounds

b.      Change of possessions.

c.      Incomplete pass

d.      A score of any kind, ex: TD, Safety, etc.         

e.      Kickoff returns with an actual attempt.

f.      Punt returns

 

4. Time Outs       

a.                 Three timeouts per half, per team.

b.                  Timeouts can only be used on 2 box plays    

c.                  Timeouts turn 2-box play into 1 box

d.                  Timeouts can be used to stop setup clock, except for angling clocks

 

5. Overtime

               a.      Coin toss- following guidelines to begin the game.

               b.   First score wins.

               c.      Each team has a max of TWO possessions to score.

               d.      NO Score after TWO by each team results in a Tie game.

               e.      Each team can go for it on 4th down on any possession.

 

6. Point System.

a.      Touchdown= 6 pts.

b.      Field Goals= 3pts

c.      Safety= 2pts

d.      Kicked Extra Point= 1pt

e.      Pass or run Extra Point= 2pts

 

 

Play Clocks

 

important:  all clocks are mandatory for each game

 

 1. Setup clocks

a.     Offense: one minute, time begins once the center is set.

b.      Defense: 25 sec after the offense is set, Play with what’s on the field.

 

2. Kickoff/Field goal hang time

a.     620 and smaller ----- -3 sec hang time

b.     Large boards ----------4 sec hang time

1)      Onside Kicks

a.     3 Seconds or if recovered

2)      Field Goals

b.      2 Seconds or blocked

 

 

 

 

3. PUNT hang time

a.      Punt Clocks- punt block time is 2 sec then:

 

1.      Big Board ---- ------4 sec hang time – 50 yards punts

2.   Big Boards----------3 seconds hang time – 35 yard punt

3.      620 and smaller-----3 sec hang time- 50 yards punt

4.      620 and smaller-----2 seconds hang time --- 35 yard punt.

 

4. Passing clocks

a.      5 sec max to run board from snap of the ball

b.     25 sec. to get the pass off. Time begins once the game is turned off.

 

5. Physically challenged Passing Clock

a.        5 sec max to run board from snap of the ball

b.       Once board is turned off 10 sec to Identify receiver

c.        15 sec to get pass off once TTC touch the field

d.       If receiver not ID in 10 sec or pass not thrown in 15 sec, pass is incomplete.

 

6. Angling Clocks

               Angling before plays:

                  a. Once offense and defense have said set

                   b. 15 sec clock begins for the offense to do any adjustment
